With careers in the floral industry, farming was a hobby for both of us, not a life plan. But feeding our family a healthier diet -- and eventually sharing it with our Chicagoland Community -- was. So, in December of 2012, with our two young sons Nicholas and Matthew in tow, we took a leap of faith, left our home on the Southside of Chicago, and moved into a charming little farmhouse with 20 chickens atop 14 acres of wooded hills in Buchanan, Michigan.
In 2014, we bought our first 4 cows and a year later jumped into farming full-time with Sean quitting his full-time job and Alejandra eventually following in 2019. And today, though we farm close to 200 acres surrounding our home, on land rented, borrowed, and bartered from our neighbors, we’re still working as a small-scale, first-generation family farm with big ideas, aspirations, and heart.
We treat our animals, our staff, and our customers with kindness and respect. And we’ve learned the importance of caring for our land in the same way: partnering with nature by practicing regenerative agriculture which results in healthier products and a more sustainable future for all of us.
We love what we do. And love doing it for you. — The Finns Alex, Sean, Matt, & Nico
